I have visited the river many times and reveled in the view. On this fall evening the leaves had changed color and the sky reflected off the calm water.
As the water tumbled over the dam, I noticed an obstruction upstream and wondered what it was and how long it had resisted the flow. My question went unanswered.
Millions of gallons of water fall over the dam and night in near silence here. I wonder at where the river started, what it has already passed by and how large it will be when it joins the Mississippi on the way to the Gulf of Mexico.
In the distance under the brilliant blue sky the river holds a secret.
Waiting to be explored.
I hope you enjoy the view and want to display it on your wall where people will see it and dream about the river.
