I have visited this alley many times, always disappointed at the poor lighting conditions until one Sunday morning in August when the light I had hoped for appeared and lit the cobblestone strip, a left over from the past when all the streets in Milwaukee Wisconsin were paved with bricks was just right.
While I worked as fast as I could to set up my camera and prepared to take the photo a young man on a skateboard took advantage of the gentle slope. He was careful not to enter the danger zone and screeched to a stop to take a break and check his phone.
I find this alley interesting because it is just a block from the center of the city and is free of litter and debris.
Nothing changes here from day to day, except the light.
