Skutafoss
After hiking a half-mile over rocky ground in the cold rain I arrived at the shallow cave where I set my gear down and took a deep breath.
I was soaked and tired and thrilled to be here. The water from the glacier was so cold and soaked through my gloves and made it hard to operate the camera. I fought the mist on the lens constantly.
The water tumbled over the ledge above in a torrent and plunged into the pool.
The noise was deafening and exhilarating at the same time.
After I got the shot, I sat on a rock in the cave and enjoyed the view even though I was wet and cold. It was worth the effort and a photo I will not forget.
