Gas Pumps
“Fil er up for ya?” the attendant asked. ”
Yes, and wash the windshield, and check the wipers,” the driver said as he turned away to go inside for a pop.
” You bet, and I’ll check the oil and fan belt too.”
Ah, the good old days when people paid in cash because no one had a credit card and the price was twenty-nine cents a gallon. Really, twenty-nine cents, look closely, the pumps are still set at twenty-nine cents. The pump jockey would check your oil and wash the windshield no matter how much gas you bought.
