Abandon Trestle Bridge

Abandoned Trestle Bridge

When would be miners rushed to Alaska in search of gold which few of them found and they admitted defeat, they turned to the railroad for jobs. The work was difficult and dangerous and over time most of them failed again and went back to where they came from.
Today, tourists ride modern trains into the wilderness to see what conditions were like years ago. I saw a few hearty hikers leave the train and go out into the wilderness armed with enough Mosquito repellent to supply a modern army and noise makers to fend off any bears nearby.
This abandoned wooden trestle bridge stands as a reminder of bygone days when steam driven trains crossed ravines like this before disappearing as well.
